House Update after the Visit
Last Saturday I got a quick photo update from my project manager. I've got to say that the progress in a week was rather stunning: Obviously the application of the full paperwork along with the prompt 3rd instalment payment did the trick.
Without further wibble, let's take a look at the photos:

Here is the Aviso posted up on the outside wall. It was issued on the 16th of August, so the absolute finish time is 12 months from that date.... however, we are looking at early new year in reality. Fingers crossed.

Looks like I've got a real chimney - even though I was happy with a falsie. So this will, if I decide later, give me the option to have a wood burner. Meanwhile I will just fit the fan heater. Also on this photo we can see the offending wall is still there. Get that grinder on it guys. Additionally, we can see the window at the top of the mezzanine landing. Gable ends going up...

Here's the end of the gable end, over the main deck / patio. Super strength yet again as there is rebar over this before the roof is dropped on. Amazing. Bomb Proof.

Here is the gable end, so we can actually see the roof line. getting exciting. Brilliant. We can also see that the other gable end is up and complete.
Looking at the progress, it looks as though the roof will be going up soon - although I understand that there is a fair amount of tidying and finishing to do to the wall work first. And guys, don't forget to put that stair wall right!
Additional good news was that the concrete mezzanine floor / ceilings are *not* a problem for the recessed down lighters. I did fear that a false ceiling would be required to fit these, but I'm assured that, no problem, the recessed lights are perfectly feasible with the existing ceilings. Phew.
